I'm here! (Photos of my place are below.) SO, last night I enjoyed my "last supper" with the Schmidts before Leah drove me to the airport. I checked two massive suitcases and got on board my plane to JFK. I was thrilled to have a window seat - yay. I fell asleep before we even took off at midnight. I woke up around 6:00a.m. and looked out the window. I saw the most incredibly spectacular clouds I've ever seen in my life. I basically watched the sunrise from my plane. It was dark when I woke up and it slowly started getting brighter until I could see the sun through a thick layer of huge puffy white clouds - it was bright orange and made everything sooo beautiful. I really wish I had photos of that! Then we started landing and were soon surrounded by thick, dark clouds and rain started hitting the window. It was super turbulent. I was right over the wing of the plane and watched as the whole wing got soaked within seconds to become a dark gray. It was cool. We landed, I got my bags, hailed a cab, and headed for West 81st. My driver didn't know what the heck he was doing once we got past Central Park. I had been on Google Maps looking at this place enough times to have him just drop me off and I walked a block to my place. My roommate Erika met me and helped me figure out which keys to use for which doors. We lugged my suitcases up 4 flights of stairs and came inside 4C! She left for work and I had the place to myself.

This is the main hallway.

This is the kitchen.

This is the bathroom.

This is the living room/TV room/whatever room.

This is my room! (Well, it's mostly my bed. Haha. It's really hard to photograph and I'll have to post more when I can use a better camera vs. my computer!!)
I have a double bed, dresser, closet, and two windows. It also is the only room with AC. Hooray. I have wireless internet here which is great. The shower water stayed hot for the entirety of my shower (imagine that!), and I love being able to hear all the traffic and people outside on the street from my window.
I slept from about 9-1:30 and then got up and unpacked everything. I feel very much at home. This was definitely the right place to stay. I took my time and got organized and then showered and headed to a local burger place called Shake Shack for dinner. [www.shakeshack.com] It was delicious. Better than In-n-Out by far! I came home and Erika was just heading to the gym, then Liz walked in and was home from work early. Liz had brought me a cookie from her favorite bakery near here - Levains [www.levainbakery.com] - it was suuuper yummy... chocolate chip with walnuts. So good, and still warm. Mm.
Now I am just digesting my dinner and sitting on my bed. I'm going to plan my day for tomorrow - which will include grocery shopping and maybe a show tomorrow night!
Love to all.
P.S. A pigeon literally just ran into the railing outside the window.
Wow your place is huge! Do you have to pay rent for the little while you're there? I'm excited for you. I love the picture in my head of you staring out the window the whole time the sun came up, just smiling and thinking about everything in the world. Love you so so much.
