Day 3 (Wednesday)

I went to a vocal coaching with Phil Hall today - recommended to him by Julie (my voice teacher) and really one of the best in the business for Musical Theatre coaching. We got a lot of amazing work done. I'm going back next week.

I saw La Sylphide by the American Ballet Theatre tonight at the Metropolitan Opera House - the first time I'd been inside that exquisitely beautiful building. I walked right by Lincoln Center at first and thought, "Ooh! That's pretty!" And then came back around after a few blocks of wandering and realized it was my destination - then got super excited!! It was gorgeous. I had never heard of that ballet but it was beautiful in every way. The set was so amazing that the audience applauded as soon as the curtain parted just to show our appreciation for the marvelous work that had been done. I love that about New York audiences - if you love something you just express it right then. People will yell out and clap whenever they are moved. And for once in my life I was truly impressed to the point of giving a standing ovation with sincerity. :-)

Julia gets here tomorrow! For those of you who don't know Julia she is a friend I met at the Adele concert in SLC back in... January. It will be nice to have a buddy to see the sights with!
