Ahoy hoy!
"The important thing is to play truly. To play truly means to be right, logical, coherent, to think, strive, feel and act in unison with your role."
-Shchepkin
This day consisted of rehearsal and then a long, happy, enjoyable, and completely brilliant stroll through Central Park. It rained (just another day to add to the list of rainy summer days) and while I was in rehearsal it completely transformed the world outside. While we were down in the subway I sat on a bench waiting for the train and found an umbrella sleeping next to me. I picked it up, pushed a button, and it sprang open. I exclaimed, "I'M MARY POPPINS!" I kept the umbrella. I love it.
The Park was BEAUTIFUL BEYOND DESCRIPTION. The trees were sooo deeply, richly green. The best green I have ever seen with my eyes. I felt the green of the trees reflecting into the green of my eyes and was told my eyes were suuuper green. I wish I had a photo. This green of the trees is a color I wish I could duplicate and use to paint an entire house. Ugh. So amazing. The trunks, in contrast, were the darkest black imaginable. Everything was fresh, everything was revived around me. My mood became this kind of buzzing contentment that I didn't want to lose and never want to forget. I kept breathing super deep sighs and saying, "I'm so happy."
Then Betsy and I hopped on a bus and headed downtown to venture to the Brooklyn Bridge. Enjoy some photos and a movie (soundtrack by yours truly haha).
Love love love.
Chills just moved in a wave over my entire body as I read about your content feeling in the park.
ReplyDeleteBridges are so cool.
Acting sure is interesting eh? That quote just makes me think. Here I am trying to be as true to myself as possible, while you're out there trying to be as true as possible to some other self, some character you become. It's incredible, really.
