What a BEAUTIFUL day here in Manhattan. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Manhattan for being so exquisitely wonderful today. The walk to school this morning was simply delightful. I passed a playground (if you can call it that - a playground sans grass is HARDLY a playground in my opinion) and enjoyed watching all the kids running around through the fountains and swinging and things. As I said, it was delightful. I loved seeing people walking their dogs, vendors on the street, hearing music from the cars as I walked around Columbus Circle, and then I went to this amazing little place called ... I think "Bagel and Bean" and it was just the most perfect place for me to grab a quick muffin for breakfast and stock up on some fruit for later. I simply love finding these new places everyday.
Our Seminar was taught by... [insert teacher's name here]... and was about Alexander Technique. I wanted to volunteer to be the guinea pig in his demonstrations but was too nervous. I still regret not going for it.
Today was our LAST CLASS with Sybil for Shakespeare!! Such a disappointing thing, seeing an end to that course. It was one of my favorites. My other favorite is Ken's class, and we have TWO doses of that class tomorrow for a make-up class. I believe we are with Group F for one of those classes. (Maybe I'll be partnered with Brown Eyes again...?) Should be good.
This afternoon when we got out of class I was sitting in the plaza with Matt and people from D walked by, randomly paired in two's, and as we soaked up the sunshine and talked with them I had a moment of intense happiness that washed over me like a tidal wave and then subsided. It didn't result in a lack of happiness, it just left me content and grateful. I am beyond thrilled that I got to spend my summer this way. Ugh, that sunshine though... It was unreal. Just the loveliest heat and then a gentle breeze and the sound of music wafting from a nearby vendor as cars honked and the conversations of strangers hugged us like the walls of a telephone booth... I distinctly remember leaning my head back and smiling at least a dozen times. It was so wonderful. Quintessential summer day.
Tonight Betsy joined me for some butt-kicking Bikhram Yoga!!! We definitely dominated that madness. The class was hard, and intense, and fantastic. I think my hair is still wet from the sweat...! (Hey, there's no way my legs could have held me up in the shower after that extreme of a work-out.... go crazy, I'll do it in the morning.)
