I wish I could provide some hilarious story or event that happened today, but honestly I just went to school and kicked butt and now I'm exhausted! I've been sitting on the couch watching So You Think You Can Dance and reading "The Middle Ages" by Gurney and will have a scene memorized by next Wednesday, assuming the gods are generous (and merciful) with my poor memory. There is so much stuffed into my brain already from the classes I've had this week! I'm a happy girl. :-)
(By the way: the rain here is off if it's off. And when it's on it is ON. We are supposed to have an insanely crazy thunderstorm tonight. I like it - I open my window and it makes my room smell amazing.)
I read a quote in my book for Voice class, Freeing the Natural Voice, that made me really think. It says, "People must want to reveal themselves... and believe that vulnerability in communication is strength." I think that is so hard to do... to allow ourselves to feel the vulnerability that ultimately can strengthen us. I know it feels nearly impossible for me... but I want to apply it to this work I'm doing here...
Love love love to all all all.
Wow. I'm borrowing that quote, if you don't mind. But I'm letting it apply to me rather than you and your voice. I looked up the book to try to find more of the quote but couldn't see more than the first few pages. It looks like a great book, I hope you enjoy it. I love thinking about your room with the window open with the smell and sound of rain mixed with the sound of the city. Your life is beautiful Ali.
